• Sixth Grade Humanitites Teacher at Future Leaders Institute Charter School

  English Language Arts and Social Studies classes are integrated and thematic at Future Leaders Institute Charter School (FLI). The curricular approach, in combination with an innovative extended day program, (which includes Prep Academy, Enrichment and Second Step) provides students with varied and rich learning opportunities: experiences that challenge and engage students in their journey through middle school.

  Upon my arrival at The Brooklyn Charter School, I introduced regular team meetings, mandated lesson plans submissions and adapted a different way of working with youngsters that has inspired them to engage in the learning process. In addition, the school now regularly reviews assessment data, and analyzes the progress of individual scholars to determine the best course of action. Under my leadership, the students' interim assessment scores increased by 40% during a six month time period.
